It’s finally getting hot in herre. After a rescheduled summer show, it’s almost time for Nelly’s free Columbus concert.
The much-anticipated show will bring the American rapper Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., better known by his stage name Nelly, to the Columbus Commons.
Nelly will perform a free show from 6-10 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Columbus Commons.
Now bringing the heat rain-or-shine from 6-10 p.m. on Sept. 27 at the downtown park, 160 S. High St., the event honors tickets from the original July concert date.
Tickets have been all claimed to see the rapper known for hits such as “Ride Wit Me” and “Just A Dream” as he celebrates the 25th anniversary of his debut album, “Country Grammar.”
The rapper is no stranger to central Ohio. He performed at the Schottenstein Center in December 2023 as a part of a “My 00’s Playlist” event. He also took the stage at the Ohio State Fair in 2022.
The Columbus Commons announced in early July the concert originally scheduled for July 20 was rescheduled due to “unforeseen family circumstances outside of Nelly’s control.”
Managed to snag tickets? Here’s what to know.
The Columbus Commons website notes a ticket does not guarantee entry, so guests should arrive early to ensure they can find a spot.
At 3 p.m. the park will close to the public.
Grounds will reopen to concertgoers at 6 p.m. to enjoy food trucks and bars. Guests will be unable to claim a spot prior to the gates opening.
Attendees are instructed to enter from East Rich Street, directly across from the Columbus Commons Main Garage, 55 E. Rich St.
Nelly will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. following an opening act.
