Days of Our Lives alum Alison Sweeney celebrated her former co-star Deidre Hall’s 78th birthday on October 31.
The Hallmark star posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, along with throwback photos of her and her TV mom on set.
Alison and Deidre last appeared on Days of Our Lives together in August 2025.
Alison Sweeney is celebrating one of the most important people in her life—and Days of Our Lives fans couldn’t be happier.
Fans of the Hallmark star are familiar with her turn as Sami Brady on the long-running NBC soap opera. Alison has made multiple appearances on Days of Our Lives over the years, and viewers are always thrilled when she alludes to her time on the series.
So, of course, they were excited when Alison recently took to Instagram to celebrate her former co-star, Deidre Hall, who plays Sami’s mom, Marlena Evans. In honor of Deidre’s 78th birthday on October 31, Alison shared a heartfelt message along with throwback photos of the two on set with the late actor Drake Hogestyn, who portrayed Marlena’s husband, John Black.
“Happy birthday @deidrehall_official!!! 🥳🎂,” she affectionately wrote in the caption.
Given that Deidre and Alison are both iconic actresses who have starred on Days of Our Lives, it was no surprise that fans went wild over the touching note.
“My very favorite family on Days … Thanks for sharing the pictures with us,” one person wrote in the comments. “Special moments 😍, a true daytime icon. Thank you for sharing,” another agreed. “Thanks for sharing all the photos! Happy birthday to one of the best in daytime!! You could pass for her actual daughter ☺️,” a different follower added.
Fans may remember that Alison and Deidre appeared together on Days of Our Lives in August 2025, when Sami returned to Salem to be with Marlena after John’s death. But the reunion didn’t come without some unexpected complications.
“I was so devastated that my schedule didn’t allow me to film the funeral scenes for John with the rest of the cast,” Alison shared with TV Guide at the time about her Days of Our Lives cameo (per Parade). “It is one of those mom-daughter moments where you really don’t have to say anything. It is just extremely emotional as they hug and cry, and it is really heartbreaking.”
