ALTAVISTA, Va. (WDBJ) – Many of us grew up watching the TV series “Little House on the Prairie,” featuring the trials and tribulations of the Ingalls family.
To mark its 50th anniversary, Altavista director Johnathan Parker has released a new documentary about the show, titled, “Little House Homecoming.”
Viewers can join Karen Grassle (“Caroline Ingalls”), Dean Butler (“Almanzo Wilder”), Alison Arngrim (“Nellie Oleson”), Charlotte Stewart (“Miss Beadle”), and Wendi Lou Lee (“Baby Grace”) as they travel to the real-life places that inspired Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books.
The documentary features “heartfelt new interviews with members of the original cast, reflections from devoted fans and historians, and extraordinary footage of the places Laura lived and wrote about,”
Parker and his wife Becky were inspired to create the documentary after a road trip three years ago with their children, Anna, Joel and Ben, to the real places Laura Ingalls Wilder lived along the prairie.
12-year-old Anna fell in love with Wilder’s books and narrates the film.
“Little House Homecoming” is a virtual cinema event.
