If you’re a fan of deep cuts and classic California punk, look no further than the new reissue from Red Scare Records. They’re sharing the long-lust, debut, self-titled album from American Steel, out March 20.
“We’re excited to have this record, which most of us don’t even have a copy of, back in print, and very stoked to be doing it with Red Scare,” says owner Tobias Jeg about the album. “They’ve been friends and supporters for years and we look forward to seeing what the future brings.”

“We’ve had a crush on this band since before Red Scare existed, and now we’re re-issuing their long-lost debut self-titled album,” the label says in their statement. These East Bay punks are wildly influential, and this is a terrific album that got shelved due to some bullshit that I would rather not put into writing. Gossip available upon request, but just know this album is fulla raw, punk hits straight from 924 Gilman and the scene that gave the world Green Day and Operation Ivy.”
Stay tuned here for more announcements from Red Scare about the album and for sneak peeks of the music it will contain.
