Amy Poehler won the inaugural Golden Globes podcast award for her talk show “Good Hang,” which features her freestyle riffs with fellow comedians, friends and celebs.
“I know that I am new to this game. I have great respect for this form,” Poehler said in receiving the trophy. “I have great respect for everyone I am nominated with. I am big fans of all of you — except for NPR: just a bunch of celebs phoning it in. Try harder,” Poehler quipped.

Poehler added that her podcast is an attempt to make a “very rough and unkind world filled with a little bit more love and laughter, and laughing with people not at them.”
At Sunday’s 2026 Golden Globes, “Good Hang With Amy Poehler” beat out the other five podcasts nominated in the category: “Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard”; Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy”; “SmartLess” from Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes; “The Mel Robbins Podcast”; and NPR’s “Up First.”
On the weekly “Good Hang” podcast, the “Saturday Night Live” veteran hosts “celebrities and fun people” to chat about their careers, friends, passions and (of course) what’s “been making them laugh.” Per the show’s description: “This podcast is not about trying to make you better or giving advice. Amy just wants to have a good time.”
The most popular episodes of “Good Hang With Amy Poehler” have featured other “Saturday Night Live” alums including Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Seth Meyers and Andy Samberg, as well as Aubrey Plaza (who was in “Parks and Recreation” with Poehler). Other guests have included Ariana Grande, Dakota Johnson, Paul Rudd, Jack Black, Selena Gomez, Michelle Obama, Gwyneth Paltrow, Quinta Brunson and Adam Scott. Poehler launched the podcast in March 2025. The show is produced Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions in conjunction with Spotify’s The Ringer led by Bill Simmons.
Poehler is no stranger to the Golden Globes stage: She and Fey hosted the ceremony for a three-year run from 2013-15 and then again in 2021. In addition, Poehler won the Globes for actress in a television series musical or comedy in 2013 for her starring role in NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.”
The Globes last year announced the new podcast award starting with the 2026 ceremony, in recognition of “the extraordinary and diverse talents in podcasting.” The six nominees were selected from among the 25 most popular podcasts deemed eligible and include both audio-only and video podcasts, based on Luminate listener metrics.
Several popular podcasts were snubbed in the first go-round for Globes podcasts, including Joe Rogan’s “The Joe Rogan Experience,” which consistently ranks as the No. 1 show on different rankings. In addition, a number of right-leaning podcasts eligible for noms that were shut out included those hosted by Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson.
