Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has reportedly been banned from horse riding following his shock arrest.
Royal aides fear the former Duke of York being photographed on horseback would be a “bad look” while he remains under police investigation over allegations he leaked sensitive information to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Before relocating to Sandringham, Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was frequently seen riding around the Windsor estate.
He has now been warned not to continue the hobby at his new home amid concerns photographers could capture fresh images.
A source told The Sun: “Since his arrest last week he has been ordered not to go horse riding. It’s considered a bad look.
“They don’t think he should be seen grinning and smiling on his horse like he was in Windsor.
“But it was one of the few things he actually enjoyed doing so what on earth is he going to do with his time?”
The restriction effectively leaves the former prince largely housebound, with only his dogs – including his late mother’s corgis – for company.

He has been photographed just once since his exile, in the now-infamous image of him sitting in the back of a car.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor voluntarily surrendered his gun licence last year, ending another of his hobbies.
He is expected to move into his new permanent home at Marsh Farm by early April once renovations are complete.
The farmhouse was added to the Sandringham estate’s no-fly zone earlier this month, banning drones and aircraft from flying overhead.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, accused of sharing sensitive reports from official visits to Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore during his time as UK trade envoy.
Police have since concluded searches of his new home, Wood Farm, as well as Royal Lodge.
The allegations were raised in Parliament, where Trade Minister Sir Chris Bryant said Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was “rude, arrogant and entitled” and “could not distinguish between the public interest, which he said he served, and his own private interest”.
Sir Chris previously called for him to be removed from his trade envoy role in 2011, claiming he “showed next to no interest in the young people” during a visit to his Welsh constituency to meet sea cadets.

REUTERSHe added that the Government was “working at pace” to introduce legislation to remove Mr Mountbatten-Windsor from the line of succession.
The Liberal Democrats later introduced a motion to release material relating to his time as trade envoy, with leader Sir Ed Davey admitting he regretted saying the former prince was doing an “excellent” job in 2011.
The motion passed unopposed without a formal vote.
Sir Chris warned some documents could not be disclosed due to the ongoing police investigation, but said the Government would comply “as fast as we possibly can”.
Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has denied any wrongdoing in relation to his Epstein links but has not directly responded to the latest allegations.
