Andrew Garfield and girlfriend Monica Barbaro have arrived at the Venice International Film Festival.

Garfield, who is in Venice on Friday, Aug. 29 for the world premiere of his new movie After the Hunt, was photographed holding hands with A Complete Unknown actress Barbaro as they arrived in the city.

Barbaro, 35, and Garfield, 42, have been romantically linked since February 2025, when a source told PEOPLE the couple was “spending time together quietly” after fans spotted them at a play in London.

While neither has publicly confirmed their relationship — Garfield vowed that he “won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever,” during a a 2024 interview with Esquire — they have been photographed together and attending events throughout the year.

Prior to Venice, Barbaro and Garfield were spotted showing off PDA when they attended tennis matches during Wimbledon in London in July.

Garfield stars with Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Michael Stuhlbarg and Chloë Sevigny in After the Hunt, the new movie from Challengers and Queer director Luca Guadagnino.

In the movie, Garfield plays a college professor who finds himself on the receiving end of a misconduct allegation from a student named Maggie (Edebiri, 29), with Roberts’ character left to navigate the situation between the school’s staff and students.

Garfield and Barbaro are also working together with Guadagnino, 54, on the director’s next movie Artificial. The couple were first reported to be circling roles in that production back in June, and Barbaro said that Guadagnino is “one of my favorite directors” during a June interview with Entertainment Tonight at a premiere for her Netflix series FUBAR. 

A synopsis for After the Hunt describes it as “a gripping psychological drama about a college professor (Roberts) who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star student (Edebiri) levels an accusation against one of her colleagues (Garfield), and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come into the light.”

After the Hunt is in select theaters Oct. 10, then everywhere Oct. 17.
