Away from the Royal Family, a number of UK police forces have said they are looking at information on a number of country’s airports that was released in the Epstein files.
Earlier, the Metropolitan Police said it was assessing suggestions that London airports may have been used to facilitate human trafficking and sexual exploitation (see 16.11 post).
The two main airports within Greater London are Heathrow and London City Airport.
Earlier this week, three other forces – West Midlands Police, Bedfordshire Police and Essex Police – said they were reviewing materials relating to private flights into and out of Birmingham Airport, London Luton Airport and London Stansted Airport respectively that were released in the files.
Former prime minister Gordon Brown claimed last week the documents showed in “graphic detail” how the Jeffrey Epstein was flying “in girls from Latvia, Lithuania and Russia” to Stansted.
