Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has not fully accepted the “reality of his dire situation”, an insider has said. The former Duke of York has had a turbulent month so far, as he has not only been moved out of his Royal Lodge home in Windsor, but he was also arrested.
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing or accusations against him.
After his arrest, which fell on his 66th birthday, Andrew was released under investigation. No further updates have been given.
While the arrest was no doubt a shock for Andrew, his current living situation has also been a shock, as he reportedly did not want to leave his 30-room Windsor mansion.
The source said: “It is extraordinary he chose to use the (late) Queen’s name in his defense. No one is quite sure if the reality of his dire situation has hit home even yet.”

While Andrew was seen leaving police custody last Thursday, he has not been seen since.
