Andrew Mountbatten Windsor allegedly made an outrageous demand to the landlady of one of his lovers, it has been claimed. The former Duke of York was married to Sarah Ferguson from 1986 until 1996, when their divorce was finalised.
The disgraced royal, who was stripped of his titles and honours by his brother, the King, will also be leaving his home of 20 years, Royal Lodge, in Windsor. According to reports, Andrew had his own fair share of romantic affairs following his divorce. One of them was with Australian Emma Gibbs, now known by her married name Emma Farah.
Gibbsy, as she was then known, was reportedly introduced to Andrew by Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of child sex trafficking and other offences linked to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
During her romance with the former prince, the Australian lived at a “delightful” four-bedroom house in Chelsea, London, where Andrew would regularly visit.
But according to sources, whilst being informal was the norm with his then-girlfriend, the same did not apply to her landlady, who was asked to curtsy in front of the royal.
The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden said: “Though lustily informal with ‘Gibbsy’, he was far less flexible with the house’s other occupant, a glamorous continental woman.
“To her astonishment, she was treated to royal instruction – even though she, rather than Gibbsy, owned the house.”
A pal told the outlet: “She was very narked off about the fact that she was being told to curtsy in her own home.“Gibbsy was her lodger. It was absolutely ludicrous, frankly. It really shows that he thought he was above the law.”
