The disgraced Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has high demands for his new home after he moves out of Royal Lodge, an expert has claimed. The former Prince reportedly wants a cook, housekeeper, gardener, and even a butler in his long list of demands after being booted from the 30-room house in Windsor following new claims coming to light about his links with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The 65-year-old is set to move to a property on the private Sandringham estate in Norfolk, with his future accommodation to be privately funded by the King, the palace said. However, The Daily Mail reported that he also insists on an “appropriate home and a rota of staff” who are fit for the son of a queen and the father of two princesses.
A royal insider told the Daily Mail that while Andrew is expected to go quietly to save face, he “has conditions and he isn’t prepared to give much ground on them”.
In addition to the cook, housekeeper, a secretary-cum-butler and gardeners, he also wants the right to roam, rather than being confined to quarters. He is understood to want either his own staff or to pull those already working for the Royal Family.
Andrew’s formal notice to leave the Royal Lodge will also affect his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, who has lived in the grounds of Windsor since 2004. Buckingham Palace’s statement hasn’t shared details about Sarah’s future, but it is understood she will make her own arrangements.
The claims come in the same week that the disgraced former prince received a written request to appear before the US Congress to be interviewed about information due to his “long-standing friendship” with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform said it is investigating the late financier’s “sex trafficking operations” and “financial records such as ‘massage for Andrew’, raise serious questions”.
The late Virginia Giuffre, who died in April, accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her after being introduced by Epstein.
Andrew has always and continues to vehemently deny her accusations.
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was formally stripped of his prince title this week through a rare Letters Patent, which said he “shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince’.”
