Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree are best known for this popular Channel 4 show Escape to the Chateau.
Dick Strawbridge and Angel Adoree delivered the ultimate shock when they appeared unannounced on a radio programme, reducing the presenter to tears.
The married pair, adored for their Channel 4 show Escape to the Chateau, have captured audiences globally with their distinctive blend of ingenuity, romance, and French castle restoration enchantment.
However, on this occasion, they exchanged the French countryside for Sydney’s bustling media scene, stepping into The Kyle and Jackie O Show studios to ambush its typically unflappable presenter, Kyle Sandilands.
Kyle had previously declared he “doesn’t get starstruck,” yet when his broadcasting partner Jackie O entered mid-conversation and hinted at a “dream guest” revelation, his characteristic composure shattered as footage from Escape to the Chateau began rolling.
Within moments, Dick and Angel made their entrance, leaving Kyle utterly speechless, reports the Express.
“Oh my goodness! I can’t believe it,” he burst out, confessing he felt as though he was “going to cry” before embracing the couple warmly.

“Sorry, but I love your TV show… this is the best day ever.” Jackie appeared equally astonished by her colleague’s response, informing audiences: “Kyle has met a million celebrities, but never have I seen him react like this.”
The Strawbridges likewise expressed their delight with the radio appearance, as they responded to the programme’s Instagram footage of the meeting, writing: “What fun that was!”
Initially broadcast in 2016, Escape to the Chateau chronicled the family and their two youngsters as they moved to France to transform a crumbling 19th-century château into both a residence and a flourishing events enterprise.
The programme aired for nine seasons before coming to an end in 2022, yet Dick and Angel have maintained audience engagement through live performances, podcasts, and frequent social media posts documenting their overseas adventures.
The pair have recently undergone a rebrand, switching their Instagram username from @the_chateau_tv to @thestrawbridgefamily, in an effort to separate themselves from the popular Channel 4 programme that catapulted them to fame.
This follows the broadcaster commissioning an independent inquiry into the Strawbridges’ behaviour during “Escape to the Chateau,” subsequently determining they had no desire to collaborate with them on future projects.
Whilst the precise accusations remain undisclosed, reports indicate concerns were raised by production company Two Rivers Media alongside allegations of disputes with producers.
The duo later addressed the matter via an Instagram statement, noting that there are “two sides to every story”.
