Apple has released new software updates across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. While the new updates bring significant changes in design and functionality across the software it also introduces new features in Apple Music. According to Apple, the latest updates in its music app improve how users listen to, discover, and interact with their music.
On the visual side, the Apple Music app now features the new Liquid Glass design elements. Apple has also added several new features which according to the company are designed to make discovering, sharing, and enjoying music more engaging for users. Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation
One big feature, which is part of the iOS 26, is Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation support in the Music app. This is also a feature designed for users who listen to songs in multiple languages as it allows them to see translated lyrics in real time, helping them follow the meaning while listening without losing the song’s flow.
Additionally, the pronunciation feature also aims to help users sing along correctly, even if they don’t speak the language, making karaoke sessions a lot more fun. Apple says it uses machine learning to handle translations, with fine-tuning from language experts to maintain the emotion and context of the lyrics. More languages will be added over time.
Apple Music Sing
To make the karaoke night more fun with Apple Music, Apple has also introduced Apple Music Sing. This one is for those house parties we think. The Sing feature turns the iPhone into a microphone, letting users sing along to songs while the lyrics appear beat by beat on screen. The setup also supports Continuity Camera, so users can see themselves performing on the TV alongside the lyrics and visual effects.
AutoMix
To make music sessions — again probably during house parties — more fun and add a bit of a DJ twist, Apple has added AutoMix. This new feature smooths the transition from one song to another by matching tempo and rhythm, much like a DJ mix. This means playlists on Apple Music will now flow more naturally without awkward pauses between tracks. Notably, the feature stays off for albums or existing DJ sets where transitions are already part of the original mix.
Music Pins
To make your library easier to use, Apple has added Music Pins. This feature allows users to pin their favourite songs, albums, playlists, or artists right at the top of their library for quick access. The Home Screen has also received a few updates, including a new Pins widget that lets users jump straight to the pinned music, and a Live Radio widget that allows them to start a station with a single tap.
Design changes
In addition to the Liquid Glass design, Apple has made a few more noticeable visual tweaks. With Motion on Lock Screen, album covers now animate while users listen to music. Combined with the new playback controls, Apple says this gives the lock screen a more dynamic look without changing how you use it.
Even as it announces new features, Apple is also highlighting its music catalogue. The company says that the entire catalogue, which includes over 100 million songs, is available in Lossless Audio, and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. In India, meanwhile, Apple Music’s catalogue has expanded across regional languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali.
