We say ‘may’ because there’s some confusion afoot though. 9 to 5 Mac reported on a blog post by OpenAI’s CEO of applications Fidji Simo about future plans for ChatGPT.
“Even more apps will be available in a new directory, including Adobe, Airtable, Apple Music, Clay, Lovable, OpenTable, Replit, and Salesforce,” was the quote from the post. Yet visit the post now and Apple Music’s name does not appear in that sentence.
It has the ring of a partnership that wasn’t quite ready to announce. Spotify announced its ChatGPT integration in October as part of OpenAI’s apps push, so it would not be a surprise to see rival streaming services follow suit.
We’ll await an official announcement, but there is some firm news on Apple Music this week. First, it has renamed its ‘Favorites Mix’ playlist as ‘Your Essentials’, and second, it has bagged an exclusive video DJ set from Fred again.. for its New Year’s Eve celebrations.
