Ariana Grande shocked fans when she announced her 2026 tour will likely be her last and she’s now revealed what she wants to focus on instead.
The 32-year-old singer made an appearance on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast on Tuesday where she revealed her 2026 Eternal Sunshine tour will be her “one last hurrah.”
Since then, she’s explained what she wants to do in her career next. Ariana is currently busy promoting Wicked: For Good, but once that’s finished she’s hoping to get back to the theater.
Speaking to Sheinelle Jones on the Today Show, Ariana revealed, “I really am enjoying acting right now. Whether it’s movies or being on stage or a little something here and there, I think that’s currently what I’m most inspired by.”
The Wicked star promised fans she’ll “still sing,” but said acting is where she’s “currently at.”
Ariana made her Broadway debut at 15 years old in the play 13: The Musical. She said it would be a dream come true if she were able to “find the right thing to come back to.”
The Side to Side hitmaker has already made a start in continuing with her acting career, having secured the role of Olivia Jones in Ben Stiller’s new film Focker-in-Law. The movie is the latest installment in the Meet the Parents franchise.
Ariana’s Today Show appearance comes after she reflected on her life away from touring and shared what her career might look like in 10 years.
“It’s going to be beautiful and I’m so grateful that — I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah.’ For now,” she told podcast host Amy Poehler.
The Florida native didn’t give away any spoilers about her upcoming tour, but said she will be retiring from touring once it’s finished for the foreseeable future.
“I don’t want to say any definitive things. I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time,” she shared.
Ariana also revealed she feels “a lot more connected to myself and my art” since she moved her career away from making music.
“I spent so much time only doing pop music — but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theater and comedy. So I think the thing that will be best for my soul and also my art and for what I’m giving to myself to, is if I’m chasing things that feel very right in the moment,” she explained.
