The New York Premiere of “Wicked: For Good” took place on November 17, 2025, at the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center. However, fans were surprised to see Ariana Grande skipping the interview along with Cynthia Erivo. According to Variety, Grande opted to skip interviews to show support for Erivo, as the latter was reportedly feeling unwell. However, the duo later appeared for photos on the carpet, looking beautiful together.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are not just co-stars in the “Wicked” movies, but also real-life besties. They proved how sweet their friendship is once again when Grande chose not to take part in interviews on November 17 at the New York premiere of “Wicked: For Good” because of Erivo’s poor health condition.
Hours before the premiere began, representatives from Universal informed the media that Erivo was unwell. “Cynthia is not feeling well and has lost her voice, therefore she and Ariana will not be doing interviews this evening,” said the representatives.
As reported by the publication house mentioned above, the “Break Free” singer skipped interviews out of solidarity with Erivo. This is not the first premiere the singer missed. Due to airplane issues, she was also unable to attend the film’s first premiere, held in Brazil at the Suhai Music Hall on November 4 this year.
Even though the pair skipped most interviews, they still walked the red carpet together, holding hands at the NYC premiere. Grande had Erivo’s back throughout the event. She reportedly didn’t let her speak so that she could give a rest to her voice, proving just how adorable their friendship is.
The highly anticipated film “Wicked: For Good” is all set to release on November 21, 2025. Cynthia and Ariana are reprising their roles as Elphaba and Glinda, making fans even more eager to watch the film.
