After several seasons that failed to deliver, The Real Housewives of New York was put on a permanent pause. The original cast was shown the door, and the series was rebooted for Seasons 14 and 15. Now, RHONY alum Luann de Lesseps is adding fuel to the rumors that the OG’s could be getting another go-around.
The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy featured Luann, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Kristen Taekman. Originally, Bravo planned to do Legacy as a series, but contract negotiations hit a huge snag. So, are these RHONY gems returning to our screens?
Luann de Lesseps thinks the RHONY OGs will be together before too long
Recently, Luann was a guest on SiriusXM’s Reality Checked, where she and Dorinda chatted about the Legacy rumors. Some reports were swirling that E! allegedly wanted to bring the show back in the traditional housewife-style format.
“What do you think about these Legacy rumors? How are you feeling about it? You said something to me yesterday, and I hope I’m not speaking out of, or maybe it’s this morning, I can’t remember,” host Dorinda Medley said. “‘Something’s cooking, D.’ I love when she says that, ‘D I think something’s cooking.’”
The cabaret queen responded, “I think something’s cooking because there’s been a lot of talk about the OGs. I think there’s a real demand for the OGs to come back.” Luann added, “So I don’t know what they got up their sleeves, but I think something is cooking.”
Apparently, Dorinda feels the vibes. “When they were put on hold for this past, whatever it’s been a year or so, it’s actually created, I think in a weird way, created a bigger frenzy for us to come back,” she said. Meanwhile, Andy Cohen confirmed that casting is moving forward on RHONY.
The Real Housewives of New York is now streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
