Arm Tellem served the last 10 years as vice chairman of Palace Sports & Entertainment, for which he acted as a central figure in the negotiations that brought the Pistons back into downtown Detroit after nearly 40 years in neighboring Oakland County. Before that, he used the start of the century to close out a prolific career as a player agent. Across baseball and basketball, he represented more than 500 professional athletes during his time with Tellem & Associates, SFX Entertainment and Wasserman Media Group. Tellem helped redefine athlete salary expectations with a prowess for winning baseball arbitration hearings, and represented basketball stars such as Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.
