Directed by Daniel H. Torrado, the 80-minute film is housed at Spanish companies Virtual World Pictures and Canary Film Factory. It was among the first AI films to qualify for the Oscars last year.
The Great Rest tells the story of an AI created by a rebellious hacker, which plans to destroy the world in order to save the only person it has ever loved — the hacker’s daughter, Emma. As humanity teeters on the brink of collapse, Emma embarks on a race against time to save the world.
Scott J. Jones, CEO of Artist View Entertainment, said: “We are officially on the verge of discovering another way to produce highly entertaining content, and The Great Reset will take us into this new era.”
Torrado added: “I believe AI will revolutionize the way films are produced, just as computers or digital post-production once did — but with an even greater impact. When used properly, it automates technical and repetitive tasks and frees filmmakers to focus on what truly matters: artistic direction and storytelling.”
