Ashley McBryde took to social media on Wednesday with an important message for her fans.
If you see her anytime soon, she is probably not going to talk to you.
She is not being mean, though. It’s for a good reason.
McBryde made the revelation in a post on X.
“Trybe, doc says I’m working on busted up vocal cords,” she wrote along with a video. “The last thing I wanna do is cancel any meet greets or Heaven forbid SHOWS. So, let’s try this for a week.”
In the video, McBryde holds up notecards with written messages and also does sign language.
“Hi Gang!” the first card read. “So … I hurt my throat.
“So, NO TALKING if I want to be able to sing to you,” she wrote on the second.
That is when she suggested practicing sign language and showed off a couple of messages including, “Hi, nice to meet you,” and “Good to see you.”
The video was kind of funny, and fans responded well.
“That way, we don’t have to cancel meet and greets,” she wrote on another card. “Let’s try together.”
“Can’t sing but you can write,” Jeff Moll responded. “I expect a new album out of this debacle. Get well soon.”
“Be well,” Lorenda Patterson wrote. “Follow doctor’s orders!”
“Ashley … you’re amazing!” another person wrote on X. “Thank you for making it a lesson in ASL!”
The 42-year-old star has a busy tour slate with shows slated on Thursday, Friday and Saturday before getting a four-day break early next week.
