McBryde said she is grateful for a life of music, miles, stories and songs
The Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas will welcome Grand Ole Opry member and Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winning singer-songwriter Ashley McBryde at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the Performing Arts Center in New Philadelphia.
McBryde will bring her Into The Wild Tour to New Philadelphia following the release of her fifth studio album, “Wild.”
“This record, in so many ways, began on the road,” McBryde said. “Wild is a collection of songs I’ve refused to let go quiet, that have been around for a decade. As well as some brand spanking new songs that were clawing at my guts to get out … and some songs that were running breathlessly into the dark because they knew if they could just get to me, they’d be safe and they’d be heard. This tour breathes life and light to all of them; it brings them to you.”
McBryde said she is grateful for a life of music, miles, stories and songs.
“I am so grateful that my life purpose is to make sure the songs don’t go unheard. We’ll see you out there,” she said.
Her new album, “Wild,” features 11 tracks and follows a narrative leading up to the moment before she quit drinking. The Arkansas artist explores her experiences growing up in the Ozarks, her fundamentalist upbringing, struggles with drinking and the reckoning that led to sobriety.
McBryde’s 2020 album, “Never Will,” earned Country Album of the Year nominations from the ACM, CMA and Grammy awards in the same awards season. She also is a CMA International Artist Achievement Award winner and recipient of an honorary doctorate in music from Arkansas State University.
