After sending fans into speculation last week by blacking out all of their social media profiles and posting only the caption “R.I.P.”, gold-certified melodic metalcore veterans Atreyu have dropped a new update.
The band shared a follow-up post inviting fans to a special “remembrance” event set for September 17 at midnight. The mysterious gathering can be joined via atreyuisdead.com, where fans are asked to confirm their participation.
Atreyu have not revealed further details surrounding the nature of the event. Whether this is a dramatic farewell, a symbolic rebirth, or a cryptic marketing campaign for new music remains to be seen — but the band are clearly leaning into their flair for theatrics. Fans will find out exactly what “Atreyu Is Dead” means when the clock strikes midnight on September 17.
Though given none of the below tour dates have been cancelled… I’m sure Atreyu isn’t calling it quits. Atreyu have been announcing tour dates around the world celebrating 21 years of their 2004 record The Curse, and are set to bring the tour home this November and December alongside some seriously killer openers.
