Bremerton’s Imperial Tattoo prepares for 2025 Kitsap Tattoo Convention

A Bremerton shop behind a new event coming in summer 2025 talks about their big idea.

Despite an unseasonable August rain arriving just before the weekend, there’s still annual activities planned in Kitsap County, with the traditional Kitsap County Fair and Stampede and then Labor Day soon to follow. Here’s a look at the coming month of community events around the area to get your end-of-summer fun planned.

Chief Seattle Days: The Suquamish Tribe’s annual festival that includes traditional dancing and music at a powwow and coastal jam, a salmon bake, sports that range from a 5k to softball and paddling events, and a gravesite memorial to celebrate the original inhabitants of North Kitsap and the event’s namesake leader. Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 17

Poulsbo Arts Festival: Come to the waterfront for booths that highlight jewelry, photography, music, metal making and more, with free admission over three days. Friday, August 15 to Sunday, August 17

Kitsap County Cornhole Classic: The backyard game gets serious for the sixth straight year in Port Orchard, where the South Kitsap Chamber of Commerce event looks to crown a cornhole king (or queen). There are multiple brackets available, prizes, a beer garden and more. Check-in starts at 10 a.m. at the South Kitsap Western Little League Field, at 4611 Sidney Road in Port Orchard. Saturday, August 16

Bremerton Bites: The summer food-truck series in East Bremerton is calling the August event a “Street Food Smackdown,” with various vendors scheduled and a vote to pick the best bites. Music, a beer garden and more accompany the food from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 16

Rock the Dock: The annual summer music series on the Bremerton waterfront is now a single day — and into the evening — at the Louis Mentor Boardwalk downtown. Live music, beers from Dog Days Brewing, and good times near the water, from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, August 16

Port Orchard Night Market: Visit the waterfront Saturday night for a twilight opportunity to browse artisan vendors, listen to music, sample food and more. It runs form 6 to 10 p.m. at the Waterfront Park. Saturday, August 16

Kitsap County Fair and Stampede: This year’s Kitsap County Fair and Stampede has a new theme, “Barn in the USA,” but all the classics will return. Enjoy the nightly rodeo, highlighted by a visit by the Xtreme Bulls on Sunday, animal displays and other competitions, the history barn, concerts on the fairgrounds lawn, food and drink booths and carnival rides. Wednesday, August 20 through Sunday, August 24

More on the fair: What not to miss at the Kitsap Fair and Stampede: events, food and more

Kitsap Blues Festival: The second edition of this music festival at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds will feature headliners “Kingfish” Ingram and Eric Gales. The three-day event is for ages 21 and up, and music lovers can park RVs and stay to listen, visit the BBQ or beer garden and hang out all weekend. Performances are scheduled to start Friday at 7 p.m., according to organizers the Admiral Theatre and Kitsap Fair and Stampede Association. Friday, August 29 through Sunday, August 31

Bremerton Blackberry Festival: Come to celebrate all things “blackberry” around the Bremerton Harborside and on Second Street downtown over three days. Listen to live music and other entertainment acts, visit more than 150 vendors on the boardwalk, sample beer or blackberry wine, to celebrate the end of summer. And across the Port Washington Narrows, at Lions Park, Westsound Pickleball Community hosts the Blackberry Blast pickleball tournament, with games each day. Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1.

Manette Fest: Bremerton’s neighborhood and business district just across the bridge from downtown hosts its annual one-day celebration, highlighted by one of the shortest parades you’ll ever see. The one-block walk past the 11th Street

Bridging Bremerton: The community event celebrating the city’s “bridge loop,” hosted by former Kitsap Sun reporter Josh Farley, happens in 2025 a bit later in the year than past iterations. This year’s walk around the Manette and Warren Avenue bridges has two opportunities: a family-friendly walk that begins at 10 a.m., gathering at Evergreen Pizza (1223 McKenzie Ave., on the south side of Evergreen-Rotary Park), and then a second, “super loop” walk that promises 10,000 steps, launching at 1 p.m. from the same location. Come join your neighbors for exercise and learn a little more about what’s going on around the route.
