A whole new world with a hundred thousand things to see is on its way – and you don’t need a genie in a bottle to get there. Last year, plans were unveiled for Infinity Planet – a massive new cultural and tourism precinct that’s set to become Australia’s largest integrated entertainment city.

Hailed as one of the country’s boldest tourism projects ever, the $2.6 billion development will feature a theme park, 2,943 hotel rooms, a 10,000-seat city hall and a landmark cultural mall – with plans to open before the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. Mega!

Set to take over a 68-hectare site at Elimbah in sunny Queensland – between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast – this ambitious proposal has been lodged with Moreton Bay City Council by new developer RHC City. It aims to “bring the world to Australia, and Australia to the world”, with a strong focus on multicultural experiences and international attractions.

What makes Infinity Planet stand out from other entertainment precincts is its Global Cultural Mall. Inside, the developers plan to showcase 50 different countries through individual retail pavilions, giving visitors the chance to shop authentic brands and products from around the world. The first wave of these global market halls is expected to open in October 2027.

At the heart of the mega entertainment city lies a 10,000-square-metre City Hall, designed to host a diverse array of cultural events, festivals, concerts and seasonal carnivals. With seating for 10,000 people, it’s bound to attract some of the biggest international acts. Basically, Taylor Swift will probably stop in Elimbah on her next Aussie tour.

For those travelling to catch a show, the Infinity Planet Hotels complex will offer a spectacular stay atop a striking three-story hill. Slated for completion by February 2030, the complex will join the Queensland hotel boom, with 30 new accommodations already open or on track ahead of the 2032 Olympics. The five interconnected buildings will offer a total of 2,943 rooms across five-, four- and three-star hotels and apartments. Like any mega resort, guests can also expect a stunning beach area, rooftop pools, a cascading waterfall, lush paradise gardens and camping grounds.

For thrillseekers, the most exciting part of Infinity Planet will be the proposed theme park, complete with a rollercoaster and Ferris wheel, and other rides. The park is estimated for completion by October 2029, and is expected to welcome up to 1.2 million guests each year.

The Infinity Planet developers also plan to build a business and technology park alongside the entertainment precinct, creating more than 5,000 jobs across the full integrated entertainment city.

This week, realcommercial.com.au reported that a Singapore-based developer acquired a $318 million plot in Elimbah – just one kilometre from the proposed Infinity Planet precinct – which could provide essential housing and facilities for future staff. Once complete, the masterplanned community will feature 1,400 homes, schools, green spaces and about 25 hectares of commercial spaces.

You can see the proposed timeline for Infinity Planet here.
