Avgusta is turning heads in music industry with her energizing debut single and captivating, cinematic music video. Avgusta, an artist who has been in the music world for essentially her whole life. After falling in love with opera when she was only 4 years old, she began taking vocal lessons at age 8 and released her first single at age 11. However, starting in the music world at such a young age was not without its issues.

After navigating through the thornier side of music management and how it can impede upon creativity, she is now 21 years old and is self-managed. By having creative freedom musically and making her own decisions on the business side, she is now in complete control of every aspect of her music.

Avgusta’s new single “RIGHT NOW” is a pop track that speaks to the power of the now. With it being the first track fans hear from her, it’s a culmination of years of being in the industry and doing things in different ways. Now she’s doing them her way.

“I had the idea for the song so I went to my laptop, made a beat and started singing what came to my mind. I sent what I had done to my sound engineer Misha Komlev who re-invented the beat that is heard on the released version and mixed and mastered it.” she said. Avgusta praises the work of her sound engineer and beat producer Misha Komlev by saying, “The song just wouldn’t have been the same without Misha”

The process of recording music is different for every artist. Some prefer the communal approach and like the aspect of their peers being able to hear the music in real time as it is being made. Others, like Avgusta, prefer a more intimate setting.

“I used to love going to the studio as a kid, but as I grew older I became slightly more introverted and recording a song became very intimate to me. God bless I am truly grateful that I have the ability and privilege to own the right equipment to have my mini-studio set up at home so I can record there. I feel safer there.” she said.

Editor’s picks

The track “RIGHT NOW” is one meant to motivate. It’s one made for empowerment and Avgusta wrote it to be able to be a vessel for those who have had a similar experience to hers. Her strong vocals and songwriting are displayed throughout the single which combine well with the upbeat 2000’s pop like production.

“The song talks about leeches who leave you at your lowest and come back at your highest. I hope this song empowers my fans, boosts their confidence and shows them that they are worthy, they are that person. I hope this song gives them the motivation to always work on self improvement and furthering their careers.” she said.

While “RIGHT NOW” is a pop track, it is only a small offering of the musical range Avgusta has. She enjoys creating a plethora of genres including Alternative Pop, EDM, techno, hip-hop/rap and more.

“I think it’s nice that some artists stick to a genre they love but I’m not one of them. I feel like people need an artist with whom they can find all sorts of genres. And I’m not making multiple genres to ‘stand out,’ I’m doing it for me because I love music of all kinds and I make music for people who are as passionate about music as I am.” she said.

For Avgusta, listening to music extends beyond simple enjoyment. Listening to and making it is an emotional experience. She doesn’t drink, smoke or go clubbing because she says music is her high.

“Music is such an amazing thing. It’s great for going over different life scenarios, figuring out solutions or to escape the reality and float in your mind when you need a minute.” she said.
