English-speaking Bad Bunny fans are taking his advice and learning Spanish before he takes the stage during the Super Bowl Halftime show in February 2026.

The “Monaco” artist, 31, encouraged NFL fans to educate themselves on the language during his hosting gig on Saturday Night Live last month.

“If you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn,” he said during his monologue, which was mostly spoken in Spanish.

One fan who has taken his advice is TikToker Niklaus Miller, who is taking fans along as he learns the lyrics to Bad Bunny’s Spanish songs. “I thought it would be fun to post videos, make people laugh and let them follow along with my progress,” he told People in a story published on Tuesday, October 28. “It felt authentic, like one of my wild ideas.”

While the NFL has announced in a statement that they are standing firm in their decision, that hasn’t stopped a petition to have George Strait replace Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime performer from gaining traction as it nears 100,000 signatures.

While it remains unclear if the country superstar has any interest in taking over the performance, critics of the Puerto Rican artist are fully backing the “Amarillo by Morning” artist, 73.

“In recent years, this performance has leaned increasingly towards modern pop and international artists. While this approach certainly broadens the audience, it’s pivotal to remember the roots that have made American music what it is today,” the petition reads, ignoring the fact that Bad Bunny, a native of Puerto Rico, is an American citizen.
