After winning big at last night’s 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards — taking home a total of 11 trophies, including Latin Artist of the Year — Bad Bunny capped off the celebration with a late-night appearance at Gekko, the high-end Japanese steakhouse in Brickell co-owned by Miami hospitality mogul David Grutman.

The exclusive afterparty, hosted by Grutman in partnership with DraftKings and Rimas Music, turned Gekko into a post-awards hotspot for some of the biggest names in Latin music and beyond. The event kicked off around 11 p.m., with a red carpet rolled out in front of the venue, flanked by excited fans and photographers, including our own Michele Eve Sandberg, who was covering the festivities for New Times. Luxury black SUVs and stretch limos pulled up steadily as artists arrived in clusters, while Daddy Yankee’s classics pumped from the speakers outside.

Bad Bunny arrived in signature laid-back yet stylish fashion, sporting a brown plaid suit, a baseball cap, dark glasses, and what appeared to be noise-canceling headphones. A strategic move to tune out Miami’s loud streets and high-decibel fan energy. His presence anchored the evening, and he was one of the last to leave, exiting just after 2 a.m.

Other stars rolled through as well. Joe Jonas made a quick appearance — when New Times called out “See you at the concert tomorrow,” he turned with a smile and confirmed, “Yes.” (Jonas Brothers will play tonight at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise.) DJ Khaled also dropped by, amplifying the energy with his signature South Florida flair. Meanwhile, Daddy Yankee stuck around long enough to sign a few autographs for fans gathered outside.

Though Karol G didn’t attend the party, her name was still in the mix after winning six Billboard Latin Music Awards earlier that night. She likely skipped the Brickell bash to get her well-deserved beauty sleep after a whirlwind week of Latin Music Week appearances.

Earlier that night at the James L. Knight Center, Bad Bunny struck a reflective tone during his acceptance speech: “I consider myself a young man who continues to dream, with many goals and things to do.” That same grounded, aspirational energy followed him into the afterparty at Gekko, where he moved through the room with quiet confidence.

The timing of his win couldn’t be more headline-worthy. Bad Bunny has been dominating headlines since news broke that he’ll headline the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show this February in Santa Clara, California. With global anticipation at a high, his Miami victory lap only reinforced his status as a once-in-a-generation cultural force.

The afterparty at Gekko wrapped up a star-powered week for Latin music in Miami, with the city once again proving its place as the cultural and nightlife capital of the Latin music industry.
