Bad Company Frontman Paul Rodgers, 75, Gives Unexpected Performance of Iconic Hit and Fans Can’t Get Enough originally appeared on Parade.
As the frontman for the legendary classic rock band Bad Company, Paul Rodgers has been blowing audiences away for decades…and as a recent video proved, he doesn’t need a big stage or bright spotlight to do it.
Rodgers, 75, took to Instagram this week to share a short video of himself sitting at a beat-up piano which appeared to be outside of a restaurant. Dressed casually for the hot weather in a pair of black pants with a matching sleeveless top and a black and white baseball cap, the singer grinned for the camera as he played the instantly-recognizable intro to Bad Company’s hit song, “Bad Company.”
“Random piano recital,” he wrote in the caption.
Commenters loved seeing the impromptu concert, with one gushing, “Oh how I love that song.”
“Beautifully played Paul!!! Love it mate,” raved someone else, with another person adding, “Ooh yes that is so hot!! Great seeing you playin the Piano!! Legendary sound and Song!”
“Now that is what I want to see!” declared yet another fan, adding, “the talented singer, songwriter, musician and sexy Paul.”
In an interview with Billboard earlier this year, Rodgers expressed his excitement over Bad Company’s upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2025.
“It is pretty amazing and very cool to be part of an iconic American institution that celebrates music, musicians and sometimes unsung heroes behind the scenes,” he said, going on to reflect on the “deep chords” Bad Company struck with listeners at the height of their fame.
“At the time we didn’t really fully understand it, and even now it is difficult to quantify or analyze. Suffice to say we resonated with music fans, or you could say we were in the right places at the right times. Sometimes the best plans are no plans, just rely on feel,” he explained.
“When we put the band together it was because it felt right and as songwriters there was a natural flow, an unspoken understanding and connection between us that still exists to this day,” Rodgers continued. “My mission was to go in whole-hearted and deliver our music from the heart and soul to the heart and soul and let…the fans decided if they liked it or not.”
