Symphony holidays
Tickets are on sale for two holiday performances by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra.
The first, the symphony’s annual performance of Handel’s “Messiah,” is set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Cathedral, 401 Main St. Tickets are $40.
The second, “Home for the Holidays 2025,” will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Raising Cane’s River Center Theatre for Performing Arts, 240 St. Louis St. The program will feature seasonal melodies and music from classic holiday favorites. Tickets are $25-$80.

‘Amahl’ tickets
Performances for Opera Louisiane’s holiday production, “Amahl and the Night Visitors,” will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Dec. 19-20, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, in the Manship Theatre in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St.

At LASM
The museumwide exhibit, “Coca-Cola Christmas: A Month of Magic at LASM,” has returned for a second year at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, 100 S. River Road.
Sponsored by the Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Company, this immersive, family-friendly celebration transforms the museum into a festive destination filled with wonder, tradition and community cheer.
The museum also will host holiday programming every Saturday leading up to Christmas, including larger-than-life Coca-Cola box displays, holiday-themed planetarium shows, Santa visits, hands-on activities, live performances and pop-up science experiments.

Sweet Adelines concert
The Baton Rouge Chorus of Sweet Adelines will perform “Christmas Express: A Journey Through Time,” a festive holiday celebration, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum’s Irene W. Pennington Planetarium, 100 Lafayette St.
The concert will blend timeless Christmas favorites with immersive, custom-designed visual projections on the planetarium dome

At the Arts Council
The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is showing “Continuum,” an exhibition featuring the work of David Dew Bruner, through Saturday, Jan. 10, in the Shell Gallery at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center, 233 St. Ferdinand St.
The show features a focused selection of Bruner’s collages, portraits and abstractions shaped by memory, loss and resilience.

‘8 Fluid Ounces’
The LSU School of Art’s biennial “cup show,” “8 Fluid Ounces,” will be on view, with works for sale, through Friday in Glassell Gallery in the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge.
The exhibition will feature 100 ceramic cups and vessels by 20 artists invited from across the country by guest curator and visiting artist Ruth Easterbrook. The cups and vessels are available for sale.
