Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo appears to have deleted his official Instagram account, sending fans into speculation mode just as the band launch a pivotal new chapter.

While no official explanation has been given for the account’s removal, the timing is hard to ignore. Shomo recently found himself at the centre of online chatter following his dramatic image transformation in the video for Beartooth‘s latest single, “Free.” Or more specifically, people were being dicks about the way Shomo was dressed.

Beartooth officially released “Free” to streaming platforms last week, alongside an attention-grabbing music video directed by Megan Gámez. The clip, already described by fans as provocative and symbolic, signals a bold aesthetic and emotional shift for Shomo and company.

The track also boasts co-production from Shomo himself and former Bring Me The Horizon keyboardist Jordan Fish, marking another high-profile collaboration for the band as they reshape their sound.

“‘Free’ is the start of the next chapter of my music and my life. The emotional roller coaster that is living can be very complicated at times. In one day you can equally experience pure fear and pure joy. This song shows a glimpse of what is to come from the next Beartooth album, which is the most honest depiction of my soul I will most likely ever make.”

Beyond the sonic shift, “Free” also ushers in a major business move. Beartooth have signed with Fearless Records, departing longtime label Red Bull Records.

Shomo praised the transition, stating: “Fearless has empowered me as an artist like nothing I’ve ever experienced. They all truly love what they do, and it shows in the work. They go about their business with humility and a hunger for joy.

“At the end of the day, they care about the music and supporting the people involved. Their ability to spread that support to artists and listeners alike is truly beautiful and I couldn’t be more proud to sign a deal with Fearless.”
