Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were “deeply involved” in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, blasts one royal expert. The disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s two daughters were aged just 19 and 20 when they were taken by their mother to visit the late sex offender in Florida.
The revelation was shown in the latest files in the Epstein scandal, which were released back in January, with the meeting said to have taken place in July 2009. Speaking of the sisters, royal author Andrew Lownie told The Times‘ writer Hilary Rose: “There’s a big campaign to say they are innocents caught up in the shellfire, but they’re not.”
He then added: “They’re deeply involved. They weren’t five-year-old girls when they were taken to see Epstein. They were grown-ups.”
He has argued that Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 36, both profit from their father’s royal status and their connection to the Firm – especially in the Middle East.
The expert revealed that the sisters make “innumerable” contacts in the region when they accompanied their father on his trips as trade envoy.
Speaking of the Middle East, he revealed that Beatrice is not known for her husband’s surname, Mapelli Mozzi, she is simply Princess Beatrice HRH.
Both have also been invited some dubious contacts of their father to their weddings and birthdays. Eugenie and Beatrice are also both said to have rejected Prince William’s suggestion of an “ethics check” on their personal investments.
While their family stepped out at the annual Easter Sunday on April 5, Eugenie and Beatrice were nowhere to be seen.
The sisters’ no-show at the event was revealed a few days prior, with both of them said to have made separate arrangements to mark Easter.
Their decision was said to have been agreed with the King.
