Becky G Goes Back to Reggaeton in New Track ‘Hablamos Mañana’

Becky G is going back to her reggaeton sound. As a gift to her fans, the Mexican-American superstar released the music video for the long-awaited “Hablamos Mañana” last night (Dec. 11).

After hitting it big with her breakthrough single “Shower” in 2014, Becky G found further success by crossing over into reggaeton. Her biggest hits include “Mayores” featuring Bad Bunny and “Sin Pijama” with Natti Natasha. To honor her Mexican roots, Becky G embraced música mexicana in the last few years. Her last two albums, Esquinas and Esquemas, included corridos and a Selena Quintanilla-esque song. While on tour for the latter LP, Becky G started teasing a song called “Hablamos Mañana.”

In conjunction with the theatrical release of her documentary Rebbeca, Becky G has finally unveiled “Hablamos Mañana.” She steps back into the perreo sound that first put her on the map in the Latine music scene. Becky G co-wrote the sexy reggaeton romp with her frequent collaborator Elena Rose, who has also written hits for Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, and Bad Bunny, and now has a solo career. “Hablamos Mañana” is a sweet reminder of her prowess in the reggaeton genre. 

The music video for “Hablamos Mañana” is a recap of Becky G’s past year. There’s that sultry performance she did of “Que Haces” with Manuel Turizo at the American Music Awards. The chemistry between them was so strong that people were strangely speculating whether Becky G was dating Turizo, even though he had a girlfriend. There are also moments of her fashion collaborations with Chicano designer Willy Chavarria. 

Becky G’s Rebbeca documentary opened in theaters on Dec. 10. The film will screen in the U.S. for one more day, tomorrow, Dec. 13. Rebbeca documents Becky G making her first música mexicana album, 2023’s Esquemas. She also opened up about the cheating allegations against her former fiancé, Sebastian Lletget.
