Leave it to the leading ladies of “The Odyssey” to push the limits of red carpet beauty.
Outside the London world premiere of the new Christopher Nolan-directed film, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth and more presented a diverse palette of hair and makeup looks — from mermaid waves to bleached brows, bouts of blush and red lips — that left no trends untouched. Ahead, WWD takes a closer look at the best beauty on the star-studded red carpet thus far.
Zendaya

Dressed in a sculpted Schiaparelli couture gown — fresh off the runway, might we add — Zendaya swapped her bixie cut for a Greek goddess-inspired hairdo and ethereal glam. The hair, crafted by Coree Moreno, featured a braided crown and free-flowing mermaid extensions with melting chocolate and honey blond highlights. Her makeup, done by Ernest Casillas, found middle ground between a full, 2000s-esque beat and a modern complexion, with blue-dusted lids, bright under-eyes, lash clusters and an even-toned base. The lifted look was achieved using an arsenal of Charlotte Tilbury products.

Earlier in the weekend, Zendaya stepped out in the opposite aesthetic. Here, her long, wild waves were firmly slicked behind her head and hidden under a white hood. Meanwhile, her makeup resembled a sandy-eyed desert angel — heavy on the blush and bronzer. For lips, Casillas crafted a glossy and gradient look using Hung Vanngo Beauty.

Hathaway contrasted her chiffon, periwinkle-colored gown with a bold red lip by makeup artist Hung Vanngo. Vanngo used both his Accentuating Longwear Lip Liner in New York Red and the Creamy Matte Longwear Lipstick in the same shade, as well as the Color Story Eyeshadow Palette in New Neutral, the Longwear Waterproof Precision Gel Eyeliner in Keep It Effortless, the Tansculpt Bronzing Contour Balm in Intentional and the Very Beautiful Matte Velvet Blush in Second Language. The statement-making glam paired well with her voluminous blowout by Orlando Pita.
Charlize Theron

Theron tamed her freshly trimmed bob with the help of hairstylists Adir Abergel and Aidan Darcy. Here, the left side of her multidimensional coloring was slicked into a micro bun on the crown of her head, while the right side was gelled over and left to frame her face. Her glam, imagined by Kate Lee, was minimal in comparison, comprised of cloud lips, rosy eyes and cool-toned contour.
Lupita Nyong’o

Makeup artist Nick Barose painted what he described as “vampy, black cherry lips” and “candlelit skin,” inspired by Theda Bara, on Lupita Nyong’o for the world premiere on Monday. Using products by Lisa Eldridge, Barose also crafted “cheeks with metallic pewter eyes,” while hair artist Vernon François sculpted Nyong’o’s texture on top of her head.
Mia Goth

Goth maintained the integrity of her signature aesthetic at the world premiere, pairing bleached brows with pouty lips, neutral lids and shimmery cheekbones. The no makeup-makeup look was brought to life by Nina Park, while her soft curls were styled by famed hair architect Christian Wood.
