The lavish state dinner was held on the second night of King Charles and Queen Camilla’s four-day stay in the US, a trip made to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary of independence.
The state dinner was held in the East Room of the White House, not the traditional State Dining Room. Donald Trump spoke at the start of the dinner and again praised the King’s speech to Congress. The King addressed the guests during a speech too, highlighting the lengthy relationship between the two powerhouses.
Tables were dressed in green linens and had seasonal spring bouquets featuring butterfly ranunculus, phlox, and lily of the valley.
This list included the president’s cabinet, the King’s aides, Republican lawmakers, six Supreme Court justices, television hosts, billionaire business owners and prominent conservative allies.
