Yesterday I asked if you would listen to King Charles’s podcast episode on Unearthed with Cate Blanchett.
Perhaps we don’t have many podcast Royal Clubber listeners, as the vote was split – with 51 per cent of you saying would be listening. I have to say, my podcast listening has dwindled, and I mainly use sleep podcasts rather than having time to listen to full episodes (bar The Right Royal Podcast, of course!).
As you will have read, many royals have had an exciting Top Gun moment in flight simulators, helicopters, and fighter jets.
I can’t say I’ve had a Top Gun moment, but it certainly feels like one every time I step into an aircraft – and I’ve never been keen on a helicopter ride!
Of course, the iconic Top Gun (1986) adventure very much glamorises the pilot scene thanks to Hollywood stars such as Tom Cruise and Meg Ryan. It’s so memorable for its ’80s aesthetic of aviator sunglasses and leather fighter jackets, and really has stood the test of time.
The sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, released in 2022, was also widely praised and even had a 96 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes – which, for a sequel under so much pressure, is very impressive.
Personally, I haven’t seen the Top Gun films – I blame my parents for this lack of film culture, as my mum educated me in all the ’80s John Hughes romantic comedies, while my dad would make me watch classic horrors such as The Shining – a contrasting mix.
However, are any of you Top Gun fans?
King Charles’s Highgrove House posted some autumnal photos on Instagram, showcasing the seasonal change and all the Halloween colours.
I don’t know about you, but I love seeing the leaves change colour in this weather – it gives off such a cosy feel. The red, rusty-coloured trees make the house look very autumnal indeed.
Do you enjoy seeing the leaves change in autumn?
See you tomorrow, Royal Clubbers!
