There have been several instances where a production house announces a project, and for months, there’s no update about it. It’s not unusual anymore; even the biggest projects go through that period. One such title is Marvel’s Blade reboot, which has faced multiple delays and creative changes. Many fans believe that Marvel is not serious about bringing the project to the big screen, which is why there has been no update about it. However, after months of waiting, a star attached to the film as mentioned above has come forward with a massive update, and noted that the reboot is still happening, leaving fans eager to see how it finally comes together.
Speaking in an interview with Elle Magazine, the 31-year-old actor opened up about the Marvel project and revealed that she is associated with the Blade reboot despite waiting for the production to begin. Moreover, she didn’t shy away from saying that the production giant’s decision to delay the title was “for the best.” She said, “It’s for the best that it’s taken the time that it has. They want to do it right.”
Fans, who have been eagerly waiting for the project, would have taken a sigh of relief after the comments made by Goth. Marvel announced the project back in 2019 and noted that they were working on bringing the character back to the MCU. At the time, it was revealed that Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali will be playing the vampire hunter in the reboot. Furthermore, in 2023, Goth joined the cast in an undisclosed role. However, it’s been more than six years since Marvel announced the much-awaited film, and it still hasn’t started filming yet.
There have been a lot of rumors about the role Goth might be playing in the Blade reboot. However, many believe, including some industry insiders, that she would reportedly be portraying the character of Lilith in the movie. It is one of the most fascinating characters in Marvel comics and has two versions. One is the daughter of Dracula, while the other is a demon.
Although all the details have been kept under wraps, it would be interesting to see which version of Lilith fans will be able to see on the big screen. But most importantly, everyone is waiting to hear those three words: “Filming Has Begun.”
