Blake Lively has seemingly “snubbed” Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce despite being active on social media since the announcement.
The Gossip Girl star celebrated her 38th birthday on Monday and since then, she has reshared several Instagram Stories from her friends wishing her well.
Some of her recent posts came after Taylor and Travis informed their fans that they are now engaged to be married – but Blake, whose longtime friendship with the singer has been under scrutiny since the pop star was dragged into the star’s ongoing legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, didn’t publicly address the engagement.
Unlike other celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne, Blake hasn’t liked Taylor’s Instagram post or shared anything about it in her Stories. It’s not clear whether the pair had any private exchange since Taylor got engaged.
It comes after a source told People that Taylor and Blake “aren’t speaking” even though Baldoni’s legal team dropped the subpoena they had issued to the singer.
The couple’s engagement announcement came just two weeks after Taylor announced that her new album, The Life of a showgirl, will come out on October 3.
Travis and his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, assisted Taylor with the rollout, hosting her on their typically football-oriented podcast, New Heights.
During the episode, she likened her career to her now-fiance’s, saying their jobs were “to entertain people for three hours in NFL stadiums.”
When Jason Kelce asked his brother and Taylor, sitting side-by-side, how they handled the discourse around their relationship, she said they just didn’t.
“We don’t, really. I don’t see a lot of things,” she said. “My name can be in the actual headline, and it’s none of my business.”
The pair started dating during Taylor’s landmark Eras tour – though Travis, despite bearing a friendship bracelet, was thwarted in his first attempt to meet his now bride-to-be at her concert at Arrowhead Stadium.
But by September, Taylor was back at the Kansas City stadium, cheering on her partner next to his mother. Less than two months later, she was changing lyrics onstage, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me,” she sang in Argentina as Travis beamed from the audience.
And come the 2024 Super Bowl, she raced across time zones and was there on the field when he won his third championship.
It’s the first engagement for both Travis – who once had his own reality dating show, Catching Kelce – and Taylor, whose past relationships with high-profile celebrities including Joe Alwyn, Jake Gyllenhaal and Harry Styles, have been inspiration for her music.
