After the Justin Baldoni legal battle, how does Blake Lively make a comeback? Well, there might be an A-list fashion icon helping her behind the scenes.
The It Ends With Us star is reportedly mounting a “quiet campaign” with Vogue‘s Global Editorial Director to find her way back to Hollywood, per RadarOnline. “The focus is couture, flawless photo ops, surprise appearances, and eventually a major Vogue cover,” a fashion insider claimed to the media outlet.
The source’s assessment may be spot on, though, because Lively was spotted at a Fendi event in New York City in May, via Page Six. She was photographed wearing form-fitting black jeans, a black tank top, and a beige trench coat draped over her shoulders. It was a chic outfit that felt very Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy coded.

“Anna understands that fashion is power,” the insider continued. “Once she welcomes you back into that elite world, people stop talking about the scandal and start talking about the comeback.”
Wintour’s fingerprints do feel like they are guiding Lively right now because the same day her lawsuit with Baldoni was settled, she stepped out on the red carpet at the Met Gala. Fashion’s biggest night is Wintour’s signature event each year, and Lively has the magazine editor’s stamp of approval.
A second insider noted, “Nothing excites Anna more than proving she can still make – or remake – a star.”
Lively hasn’t been Wintour’s only project over the last year; Lauren Sánchez’s image in the press has been helped tremendously with the Vogue leader’s support. It was Wintour who reportedly matched Jeff Bezos’ wife with “image architect” Law Roach, Zendaya’s longtime stylist.
“A source told me that Anna knew Lauren Sánchez had poor taste and was helping her the first time she went [to the shows],” Wintour biographer Amy Odell told The celebrity.land in March. “Her taste level is not the Vogue taste level.” And with the Bezos’ underwriting this year’s Met Ball, it’s vital that her honorary co-chairs look the part.”
Will that same fashion magic work on Lively? Only time will tell.
