On Friday, Jay-Z performed at Yankee Stadium, the beginning of a concert series celebrating his debut album Reasonable Doubt’s 30th anniversary. During his opening show, he offered up a rendition of “Can’t Knock the Hustle.” Fans were surprised when his wife, Beyoncé, made a sudden appearance to sing part of the famous track originally brought to life by Mary J. Blige.
At the end of the moment, Jay-Z told the audience, “Oh, she can sing.”
The Cowboy Carter singer then said to the crowd, “Give it up for my baby.”
But the family moment wasn’t over. Jay-Z then invited his 14-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, to join him for his song “Feelin’ It.” In an X post, Blue Ivy can be heard playing the piano solo from the song.
As she finished, Jay-Z said, “Make some noise for the legendary Blue Ivy Carter.”
This is the young star’s first public performance, though her proud dad gushed to GQ in March about her talent.
“She won’t let us get her a teacher,” he shared. “She doesn’t want it to be a job. But she has perfect pitch. If she hears a song, she’ll be like ‘Play it again’ and then she’ll teach herself.”
He continued, “That’s just talent. She doesn’t work at that. She worked at this, and it makes me proud that she fought for something that she really wanted to do. I don’t think we’re going to be able to get her off that stage now.”
Blue Ivy is also a famously talented dancer, first appearing onstage with her mother for Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in 2023 and then again in 2025 for the Cowboy Carter World Tour.
