Jelly Roll is sharing his side of the story after filing for divorce from wife Bunnie Xo.

News broke on Monday, June 15, that Jelly Roll (real name Jason Bradley DeFord) filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo (real name Alisa Andrea Carter) after nearly 10 years of marriage. The pair do not share any children.

Jelly Roll, for his part, became a father when he welcomed daughter Bailee Ann with ex-girlfriend Felicia Beckwith in 2008 while he was serving a prison sentence for a drug dealing conviction. He went on to welcome son Noah Buddy with ex Melisa Ann Cowell in August 2016, the same month in which he tied the knot with Bunnie Xo.

Ahead of the split, Bunnie Xo clapped back at speculation that the pair were struggling in their marriage.

“Someone said the other day, ‘They used to always be together, and now you never see them together,’” she said on her “Dumb Blonde” podcast in August 2025. “I’m like, ‘Do you guys not know that for the past six months [that] I’ve been trying to make a baby?’”

In June 2026, court documents obtained by Us Weekly shared some insight into Jelly Roll’s split from Bunnie Xo. Us Weekly reached out to their lawyers for comment.

Jelly Roll listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind his split from Bunnie Xo. The docs noted that Jelly Roll claimed that the “parties are unable to live together successfully as Husband and Wife.”

The docs noted that Jelly Roll proposed that the pair have “an equitable division of the parties’ assets and apportions responsibility for payment of the parties’ debts.”

“The Husband would state that during the marriage the parties have accumulated certain real and personal property, and incurred certain marital debts,” the docs read. “The Husband anticipates that the parties will execute and enter into a Marital Dissolution Agreement that provides for the division of the parties’ marital assets and debts. Plaintiff asks that the Court approve any Marital Dissolution Agreement entered into by the parties upon the expiration of the statutory waiting period.”
