A public relations expert has offered his insights on why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lost favor with the public – and it’s not because they’re “bad people”.
Edward Coram-James from GoUp suggests that while Meghan and Harry may have learned from their past PR blunders, these experiences could be the reason for their declining popularity.
Coram-James believes that Meghan and Harry are likely “kind, caring and incredible people”, but their missteps in communication and branding have contributed to their dwindling public approval.
In an interview with Express.co.uk, he stated: “To be fair to the Sussexes, they seem to have learned the lessons from bad PR, and appear to have turned the page.
“I attribute much of their fall from public favor purely as a reflection of what can happen with bad PR. It does not mean that they’re bad people.
“For all we know, The Sussexes could be kind, caring, and incredible people.”
He summed up his thoughts in a straightforward nine-word statement: “It’s just that they had a bad PR plan. “Elaborating on how poor PR can impact public figures.”
Mr. Coram-James added: “But, that’s the thing with PR: if it goes wrong, the public can, fairly or unfairly, decide that it makes you a bad person, whereas, when it goes right, the public can decide that you’re a good person. Its why communications are so key.”

Despite their tarnished reputation among older generations, Harry seems to resonate more with younger audiences.
A recent Ipsos poll surveyed 1,097 British adults, aged 18 to 75, asking if they would support Prince Harry upon his return.
Conducted between October 8 and 9, the survey revealed that 34 percent of respondents would back Harry, with nearly half of those supporters falling within the 18 to 35 age bracket.
