Britney Spears‘ star power cannot be denied, not even on arrest records.

The pop star was taken into custody by California Highway Patrol on Wednesday night, on a charge of driving under the influence, and her occupation listed on her inmate record is listed as “celebrity.”

Considering the 44-year-old’s legacy as a pop superstar with a catalog that includes some of the biggest chart-toppers of the 21st century, it’s certainly an apt title for her occupation, if a bit of an understatement. After all, multiple artists paid tribute to the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, from Tate McRae recreating Spears’ 2001 Dolce & Gabbana look from the 2001 VMAs red carpet to host Megan Thee Stallion showing up in a replica of Spears’ serpentine “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance outfit from the same ceremony.

But, to be fair, it probably wouldn’t be efficient to type “One of the Aughts’ Leading Pop Luminaries” as a title on an arrest record, either.

Spears’ latest bit of legal trouble occurred in Ventura County, Calif., around 9:30 p.m., per the sheriff’s office arrest records. She was subsequently booked and released at 6 a.m. Thursday morning. The arrest is noted as a “cite and release” and has no probation listed, with the Grammy winner’s next court date listed as May 4.

Spears’ rep called the incident “completely inexcusable” in a statement to PEOPLE. “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” the rep added. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”

“Her boys are going to be spending time with her,” continued the rep of Spears’ sons Preston, 20, and Jayden, 19, shared with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. “Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”

Representatives for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment.

Spears’ arrest comes a month after the singer sold her entire music catalog to publisher Primary Wave for around $200 million. Although she hasn’t released a full album of music since 2016’s Glory — with her most recent single, “Mind Your Business,” being her fourth collaboration with Black Eyed Peas alum Will.i.am and dropping in 2023 — the amount Spears was paid for her catalog is thought to be in the ballpark of $200 million.

Primary Wave bills itself as “the home of legends,” having secured the rights to the work by musicians like Whitney Houston, Prince, Stevie Nicks, Bob Marley, John Mellencamp, and James Brown. In 2020, Nicks sold an 80-percent stake in her music to Primary Wave for an estimated $100 million. The company also acquired the rights to about 60 songs by Houston in 2022, in a deal estimated between $50 million and $100 million.

While it’s undeniable that Spears is still very much a celebrity, the musician has been vocal about her decision to “never return” to the music industry. However, she also claimed a prolific side hustle as a ghostwriter, saying she had “written over 20 songs for other people the past two years!”

And fans will get to relive the glory days of Spears’ fame with the upcoming biopic from Wicked director Jon M. Chu, who stated last year that Spears is “going to be very involved” in adapting her memoir, The Woman in Me, for the big screen.
