Britney Spears has opened up about her marriage to Sam Asghari, confessing it occurred during some of “the hardest years of my life.”
The Gimme More hitmaker, 43, took to Instagram late Sunday evening to share an emotional glimpse into her life as she looked back on the period she was separated from her two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.
Britney had a troubled relationship with her children for years, with the duo even relocating to Hawaii with their father, Kevin Federline, in August 2023. Britney has now reconciled with her boys.
Revealing details about their separation on social media, she penned, “We’re just people so fragile and human the hardest years of my life were my two sons gone for those 3 years ..”
Britney remembered being “cut off from calling or texting” her children, noting, “I remember in shock my secret to survival was denial and a lot of tears.”
She wrapped up the post by saying, “My soul has never experienced food like this a day in my life… so silly and embarrassing im going to eat cookies and cream ice cream now…god bless u all.”
The pop star accompanied her heartfelt message with an image of herself striking a pose while wearing no clothes, with her arms raised above her head as she gazed through a window.
The post has already racked up over 150,000 likes.
Britney and Sam tied the knot in June 2022 during an intimate celebration at her Los Angeles home.
None of her close family members received invitations to attend the ceremony.
However, their fairy-tale romance was short-lived, with the couple confirming their separation in August 2023.
