Last week, The Romantic, Bruno Mars’ first solo album in nearly a decade, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The superstar kicked off this latest era earlier in 2026 with the release of the single “I Just Might,” yet another global smash that borrows heavily from the hits of the past.
Mars has largely moved on from “I Just Might” in favor of second The Romantic single “Risk It All,” which is off to a fantastic start across Billboard’s pop radio rankings. As that latest tune continues to climb, “I Just Might” hits No. 1 on all but one pop radio roster, and it helps Mars tie for a historic record on one tally.
“I Just Might” Hits No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay Chart
“I Just Might” surges from third place to No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. Like all lists published by Billboard that contain the word airplay, it focuses on showing the most successful tunes being played when it comes to one format. Adult pop is a more mature-leaning side of pop, and joined with the Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary lists, it is the third and final pop tally in America.
Bruno Mars Earns His Fifth Career Adult Pop Airplay No. 1
“I Just Might” marks Mars’s fifth No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. Only one other tune, “Uptown Funk,” his Grammy-winning collaboration with Mark Ronson, managed just one stay at the summit, although “I Just Might” is just getting started. Two other tracks, “Just the Way You Are” and “When I Was Your Man,” held on for a bit longer, while “Die With a Smile,” another smash that won him a golden gramophone which also credits Lady Gaga, commanded the tally for 10 periods. That’s as long as Mars’ four other rulers combined.
Bruno Mars Ties Justin Bieber With Another Leader
With a fifth champion to his credit, Mars enters into a tie with Justin Bieber, and the two powerhouses jointly claim the third-most leaders in the history of the Adult Pop Airplay chart among solo men. Ed Sheeran leads the way in this regard with eight rulers, while Shawn Mendes has scored just one more than either Mars and Bieber.
Bruno Mars Ties Nickelback, Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift
Mars and his Canadian pop counterpart are also on the same level as Nickelback, as the rock group similarly snagged five leaders during its heyday. Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift are tied for the most No. 1s of all time on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, and they are in a distant first place. Those two acts have both landed 15 winners, more than three times as many as Mars, Bieber, or Nickelback on their own. In fact, both Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift have nabbed as many No. 1s on the Adult Pop Airplay rundown as Nickelback, Bieber, and Mars combined.

Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” Also Tops Another Pop List
At the same time that “I Just Might” makes it to No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, it also flies to the peak position on the more competitive Pop Airplay tally. In both instances, “I Just Might” sat at No. 3 last frame, and now it rules.
Mars has proved far more successful on the Pop Airplay chart, where he earns his milestone twelfth No. 1. With another smash included in his discography, the singer-songwriter pushes past Rihanna, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, and Bieber, all of whom have 11 winners apiece. He sits behind only Swift, with 15 champions in her catalog.
Bruno Mars’ “Risk It All” Climbs Across Radio Charts
Mars fills two spaces on the Adult Pop Airplay chart at the moment. Last frame, “Risk It All” opened at No. 40, in absolute last place, at the same time that The Romantic conquered multiple Billboard lists. In its second turn, “Risk It All” vaults more than 10 spaces and establishes a new high point of No. 29. “Risk It All” also surges to new best positions on both the Pop Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay rundowns, though it has yet to crack the top 30 on any radio roster aside from the Adult Pop Airplay chart.
