Buckingham Palace has announced that the King and Queen will be hosting the President of Germany for a state visit at Windsor Castle in December.
The statement read: “The President of Germany, accompanied by Frau Büdenbender, will pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom, hosted by His Majesty The King, from Wednesday, December 3rd, to Friday, December 5th.”
This marks the first inward state visit from Germany in 27 years.
This German state visit is the third inward state visit hosted by the King and Queen this year, following successful visits from Macron and Trump in July and September.
The King and Queen’s inaugural state visit of their reign was to Germany in March 2023. As Prince of Wales, Charles visited the country over 40 times, including three official visits with the Queen and three official visits with the Duchess of Cornwall.
This comes as Charles and Camilla recently hosted President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, last month. During the trip, Melania made her feelings clear towards Princess Kate.
Melania and her husband, Donald Trump, spent two days and three nights in Britain before returning to America.
The First Lady was escorted to the grounds of Frogmore House for an excursion with Princess Kate, where she participated in a series of activities with young Scouts, reports the Express.
It was there that Melania demonstrated her regard for the future queen consort when one of the Scouts enquired whether she was going to be the “next princess”.
Melania reportedly smiled and gestured to Kate: “She’s the only princess here.”
Donald Trump is the first-ever US president to be granted two state visits to Britain.
