When it comes to music, some dogs can either take it or leave it. My dog, who is an avid TV watcher, barely seems to notice when I’m playing an album in the house… though that’s probably for the best, because I don’t need to know if she’s getting tired of hearing so much Taylor Swift every day.
It’s a very different story for the Bulldog in the TikTok video below, though. He clearly has a favorite singer, and boy, does he understand what she’s singing about from the bottom of his soul.
In this video shared by @marcus6938, we see a Bulldog totally parked in front of the TV, which is playing the music video for Whitney Houston’s iconic hit, “I Will Always Love You.”
With the way he’s howling along with the song, there’s no doubt that this dog is a huge fan of Whitney’s, and judging by the amount of feeling he’s putting into those howls, it’s like he really feels every word she’s singing down to his bones.
Commenters are so impressed by him that one suggested he might be the reincarnation of Whitney herself, while another asked, “Excuse me but WHO broke his heart?”
Judging by how he’s really feeling Whitney’s lyrics, it must have been someone special…

Why Some Dogs Sing
Not all dogs will feel inclined to sing along to music the way that this one does, but it’s also not a totally uncommon phenomenon.
“Wolves howl to communicate to each other and call to each other, and sometimes the high-pitched music makes that evolutionary trait come out,” Veterinarian Dr. Laura Robinson told PopSugar. “Others think they may howl because the high pitch may hurt their ears, or they are trying to alert you to something or want attention.”
Another veterinarian, Dr. Georgina Ushi, also told the outlet that hearing your dog sing isn’t anything to panic over.
“When this happens, your dog isn’t in pain or anything. If they were, they would try to run away from the music or cover their ears,” Dr. Ushi added. “Some tunes may sound familiar to them, and they are just trying to mimic it and have some sort of conversation.”
If this dog is trying to communicate with Whitney Houston, who can really blame him? He seems to totally understand every word of what she’s singing about, after all.
