Bunnie XO is clapping back at the haters.
On Instagram on Monday, Oct. 20, the podcaster, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, addressed a hateful comment she received which read, “I love Bunnie, but her image is trashy for the country music scene.”
In response, Bunnie shared a video with her husband Jelly Roll, adding text over the clip that offered more insight into their journey — and why she believes you should never judge someone based off their appearance.
“Sometimes God uses the most unlikely people to be used as vessels to SHOW what transformation & unconditional love is,” she wrote. I grew up on the streets of Vegas. A homeless runaway at 14, involved in the adult industry since I was 21, survived abuse, addiction & built my entire life off being the girl who was never good enough. The [trash].”
“My husband is an ex felon who has been righting his wrongs and evolving the past 10 years. He has completely transformed his life from who he was — physically and spiritually,” Bunnie continued. “Y’all think you could say anything to us we haven’t heard before 1000 times? Happy people don’t hate & hating [people] aren’t happy. Never met someone successful [ever] talking down to someone online.”
She concluded, “I’d rather be trashy making people feel loved, seen & heard. Than judging someone from their appearance. Respectfully, I don’t take constructive criticism from people who have never constructed anything.”
In the caption, she wrote “Book drops 2/10/26 📕.” Bunnie’s memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, will be released on that date and was described in a press release as a “modern-day rag to riches story.”

In the comment section, fans applauded Bunnie for how she handled the critic.
“I’ve never wanted to be ‘Trashy’ so bad in my life! You are our generation’s Dolly! ❤️,” one fan wrote. “We are making the right people famous ❤️ both are such beautiful souls.” commented another.
“Your past never defines your future. I’ve seen [Jelly Roll] in concert 4 times and am amazed every time. I LOVE your content and love the love you share together. Thank you for being so real. ❤️🩹,” added a third.

Bunnie and Jelly Roll recently celebrated their 9-year wedding anniversary in Cologne, Germany while the singer was on tour with Post Malone.
The couple met after Bunnie attended one of Jelly Roll’s concerts at Las Vegas’ Country Saloon in 2015. At the time, Bunnie was working as a high-end escort, which she’s previously opened up about on her Dumb Blonde podcast. Ultimately, she gave up her career after becoming a stepmother to Jelly Roll’s daughter Bailee.
Jelly Roll and Bunnie married on August 31, 2016 in a Las Vegas courthouse after Jelly Roll proposed on stage earlier that night. They renewed their vows at the same Las Vegas chapel on their seven-year anniversary in 2023.
