Bunnie Xo Says Jelly Roll’s Daughter Is ‘Mad’ About Divorce

Bunnie Xo is shedding light on how Jelly Roll‘s daughter is handling the news of their divorce.

“I don’t ever like to speak for Bailee. You guys know that. … Before this podcast, I text her and I say, ‘Hey, I’m doing a podcast. Is there anything you want me to defend you about or anything like that?’” Bunnie, 46, said on the Thursday, June 18, episode of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast. “And her big thing is — and I get this — is we need more empathy in this world and people need to stop treating us the way that they’re treating us. Because we are human. And she’s like, ‘I get that we’re public figures, but at the same time, you know, stop expecting so much from us because you don’t deserve it.’”

Bunnie noted that she understood where the teenager was coming from and reminded listeners that she would do anything for Bailee.

“You guys need to remember she’s 18. Freshly just turned 18,” she continued. “The only woman she has had consistently in her life, she feels, is being taken from her and it’s a weird transition that we’re gonna have to navigate. Of course she’s mad at me, because I was always the f***ing disciplining parent in the relationship because he’s f***ing fun dad all the time.”

It isn’t only Bunnie she’s upset with. “She’s mad at her dad because of what he did. And hello, she f***ing deserves to feel that way,” Bunnie said. “So she’s gonna have emotions. She’s gonna unfollow me on f***ing Instagram and then she’s gonna text me back the next day and tell me to follow her back. That’s just how it is right now.”

Bunnie insisted that she wasn’t going to keep Bailee from having strong feelings about what was going on in their lives.

“This is what we’re dealing with right now and I don’t care,” she said. “That’s my baby. I love her. If she wants to be mad at me for f***ing two years, I’ll deal with it. But when she’s ready to come back, I will always be there for her.”

Us Weekly confirmed on Monday, June 15, that Jelly Roll, 41, quietly filed for divorce from Bunnie one month prior after nearly 10 years of marriage. (The country singer has two children — Bailee and Noah — from previous relationships.)

Shortly after news broke of the pair’s divorce, Bailee shared her opinion via TikTok on Tuesday, June 16.

“I am disgusted at how invested everyone is in a very clearly private family matter. It’s fkn crazy,” she wrote over a photo of herself in bed. “Go on somewhere yall. Worry ’bout your house — not mine. I’m not speaking on it — yet.”

Both Bunnie and Jelly Roll have since addressed the breakup themselves, opening up about what went wrong.

“Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just got off the phone earlier today,” Jelly Roll said on stage in New York on Thursday. “Nobody cheated on nobody. She just did a whole podcast about it. You can go watch it. Every word of it is the truth.”

He continued, “That will be my best friend forever. This is the only time I will ever speak about it. Bunnie, I love you baby. Thank you for those 10 years. They were incredible. Thank you for the next 10 years of friendship and 20 beyond that.”

Bunnie, meanwhile, shut down rumors about the split — including that she cheated on Jelly Roll and is dating Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger.

“This is so wrong. … It’s embarrassing,” she said on her podcast. “God, it’s just so f***ed up that the internet can just run with a narrative and people just f***ing run with it.”
