Caitlyn Jenner Recoups $439K From Late Friend Sophia Hutchins’ Estate

Caitlyn Jenner has recovered nearly half a million dollars from the estate of her late friend and longtime manager, Sophia Hutchins, months after filing a creditor’s claim tied to expenses she said were never repaid.

According to Just Jared, Jenner filed the claim in November 2025, seeking $439,095.88 from Hutchins’ estate. Court records show the estate approved and repaid the amount in March 2026.

The filing centers on expenses Jenner said Hutchins accumulated while managing her personal and business affairs. According to the claim, more than $273,000 came from credit card purchases, including in-store and online transactions. Jenner also sought repayment for more than $133,000 in shared legal fees, nearly $16,000 in debit card charges, and roughly $7,000 in cash advances.

Jenner maintained that Hutchins had permission to use her accounts for work-related matters, but that any personal spending was expected to be paid back.

Hutchins and Jenner had been closely linked for nearly a decade. The two met in 2015 shortly after Jenner publicly came out as a transgender woman. Hutchins, who had already transitioned while attending college, eventually became Jenner’s manager and one of her closest advisers.

She later served as CEO of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation and appeared alongside Jenner on the E! docuseries I Am Cait.

Hutchins also handled Jenner’s speaking engagements and public appearances, and the pair frequently attended events together.

Despite years of tabloid speculation, both women repeatedly said their relationship was not romantic. “We are very close,” Jenner said in 2018. “We do a lot of things together. We’re kind of inseparable. We’re the best of friends.”

Hutchins echoed that closeness in the same interview, saying Jenner’s work in transgender advocacy was never about attention. “Caitlyn is not working on these issues for press attention,” Hutchins said. “She’s doing it because she genuinely wants to help the community.”

In addition to working for Jenner, Hutchins founded the sunscreen company LUMASOL after graduating from Pepperdine University with a degree in economics and finance.

Hutchins died on July 2, 2025, after an ATV crash near Jenner’s home in Malibu. Authorities said the 29-year-old collided with another vehicle before being thrown roughly 350 feet into a ravine. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
