The first Friday of February is set to spotlight local and visiting artists, performers and downtown organizations and businesses during the historic downtown art walk, CaminARTE.
From art exhibits to live performances and local vendors, the event, led by the Laredo Cultural District, brings Iturbide Street to life.

Here’s a look at what’s happening across several downtown locations:
Laredo Center for the Arts
6-10 p.m., 519 San Agustin Ave.

A special art exhibition by Bethany House residents will be featured during CaminARTE in front of the Laredo Center for the Arts.
The art division of Laredo’s Birding Festival will showcase artwork in a variety of mediums from artists of all skill levels and ages, highlighting bird species found throughout Laredo and South Texas.

Casa Ortiz
6-10 p.m., 915 Zaragoza St.
Casa Ortiz will feature several exhibits and events highlighting local creativity during CaminARTE.

Robledo’s work centers on the exhibit “The Stories of Those We Do Not See,” which explores themes of sadness, loneliness and grief.
Artwork by Kiki G. Alvarado will be on display during CaminARTE. The exhibit, a collaboration with the Reyes Meza Museum and the government of Nuevo Laredo, showcases the line-heavy folk and urban portraiture Alvarado has featured in past exhibits and mural work across Tamaulipas.

Pena will exhibit nature-based artwork titled “Saturated Southwest Life.”
Love is in the air as the Laredo Cultural District brings a Valentine’s-themed market to historic downtown while spotlighting local vendors.

Musician Travis Trait will perform at Casa Ortiz as visitors explore nearby exhibits or shop at the Valentine’s Market.
La Posada Hotel
6-9 p.m., 1000 Zaragoza St.
Danielle Flores (Paper Cucos Art)

The South Texas-based artist will showcase contemporary artwork that explores themes of spirituality, femininity, cultural legacy and the natural world. Her work honors feminine power through imagery of goddesses and spiritual figures.

Five Star Wrestling – George Washington Jr.’s Final Huzzah
Five Star Wrestling returns to historic downtown with mixed tag team matches featuring Alex Arsenal and Haley Danielle against The Force Rays Perez and “The Dreamcatcher” Denisse Dae. Depending on the outcome, George Washington Jr. may be forced to leave the wrestling scene for good — or earn his own float in the upcoming WBCA parade.
